Senate District 33 DFL Rallies Behind Nat Smith with Provisional Endorsement

Forest Lake, MN — Today, Nat Smith announced that he has received the provisional endorsement of the Senate District 33 Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. The vote to award this designation passed with unanimous support.

“This provisional endorsement sends a clear message: District 33 is ready for a representative who is ready to tackle fraud, cuts to healthcare, and the continued rise in the cost of living,” said Nat Smith. “I care about safe schools where our kids can thrive, good jobs that grow our economy, affordable healthcare that we can count on, and safe neighborhoods where families feel secure. I thank Senate District 33 DFL for their early support and recognition that we are building a winning campaign to create a brighter future for Minnesota—one that puts people, not politics at the center of decision making.”

The provisional endorsement is a way that the DFL can provide early formal support to a candidate for an office. This status is conferred if the candidate has gained sufficient support within the DFL and there are no other candidates currently vying for the party endorsement. A candidate receiving this status will still have to be formally endorsed by the party at the DFL Convention.
