Nat Smith visits carpenters International training center
Las Vegas, NV — On February 4th, Nat Smith visited the United Brotherhood of Carpenters International Training Center, meeting with union men and women and to learn more about the union’s commitment to workforce development. The United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC) is one of North America’s largest building trades unions with more than a half-million members, dedicated to training, educating, and representing the next generation of skilled construction professionals. The UBC International Training Center is a world-class facility that serves as the hub for advanced skills education, leadership training, and instructor development. The center plays a key role in keeping union carpenters competitive in today’s construction industry and supports a network of more than 250 training centers across North America.
“Walking through the classrooms and shops, you see the future of America being built—literally,” said Nat. “Union carpenters are the folks who construct our schools, hospitals, bridges, and homes. They’re mastering skilled trades, earning family-supporting wages, and setting the standard for safety and quality on the job. This work matters. Strong unions mean a stronger middle class, safer job sites, and infrastructure we can rely on for generations.”
The visit underscores Nat’s commitment to supporting workforce development, good-paying careers, and partnerships that help Minnesotans succeed in the trades.
